Island View Orientation (Freshman)

Freshman Orientation Dates

Five different orientation sessions, typically scheduled at the end of July and beginning of August, are offered for students to select on a first-come first-served basis. 2009 summer orientation dates will be announced at a later date. 

Freshman Student Orientation

Freshman Island View Orientation is a two-day, overnight program. All incoming freshman students must attend both days of the orientation and stay overnight in our on-campus student housing. Parents and guests are invited to attend the concurrent family orientation while their student attends Island View Orientation and may also stay on-campus (space is available on a first-come, first-served basis).

At Island View Orientation freshman students will:

• Learn about academic requirements and policies;
• Get one-on-one professional academic advising;
• Register for classes;
• Meet fellow classmates and student leaders;
• Learn about the programs and services available; and 
• Find out how to get involved and to maximize the CSUCI experience.

Reservation and Fee Information

The Island View Orientation fee for 2008 is $140 per student.  The fee for guests attending orientation is $90 per person and an additional $35 per person if the guests stay in on-campus housing.  2009 summer orientation fees and registration information will be announced at a later date.
