
Student Communication provides design and graphic support by developing cost-effective, graphically aesthetic and timely printed material for the division. Student Communication is responsible for creating and implementing communication strategies and assisting with writing, editing and design services to develop promotional publications for the recruitment of students, promotion of events and activities and the description of the services offered within our division to our constituents.
Amy Spandrio, coordinator of student communication and assessment, earned her B.S. in environmental science and resource management from California State University Channel Islands in 2005. While working towards her degree, Amy was employed at CSUCI in the VPSA office as the assessment and communication assistant. After graduating, Amy continued working in the VPSA office until November 2005, at which time she left to pursue a career as an environmental consultant.
In May 2007, Amy returned to the VPSA office as the coordinator of student communication and assessment. In this role, Amy coordinates the production of various publications, including the annual Student Guidebook and divisional annual report, and assists with the assessment of divisional programs and services. She is also responsible for maintaining divisional web pages, design and printing requests, and assisting with other divisional project requests as needed.

Through collaboration with student leaders and the campus community, Special Projects carries out the vision of the DSA by facilitating the creation and implementation of traditions and esprit de corps at CSUCI via internal and external communication pieces, such as promotional materials and collateral, newsletters, and internal correspondence via Dolphin and campus global emails.
Lisa Power, coordinator of special projects, earned a B.A. in journalism with an emphasis in public relations from Humboldt State University. Upon completing her degree, Lisa was hired to coordinate communication for St. Joseph Health System-Humboldt County, where she worked for three years before moving back to her hometown of Camarillo. She now coordinates special projects for the Division of Student Affairs at CSU Channel Islands. Special projects include various student committees, the first Class Rings, Grad Fest, and The Nautical yearbook. She also oversees the production of student event collateral, the Dolphin Email system, University Calendar, and miscellaneous communication pieces across the spectrum of the Division.
